Wings' Athan Iannucci Honored As NLL's Player Of The Week And Offensive Player Of The Week

The Philadelphia Wings' Athan Iannucci was named the NLL's Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the week for his performances in the Wings' 13-10 win over the Portland Lumberjax last Friday (6G, 2A) and 15-14 overtime loss to the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday (3G, 3A). In addition, Iannucci set the NLL's single-season goal scoring record (62) on his second goal during the game against the Swarm.

"We're very proud of Athan and what he's been able to achieve this season," said Wings Head Coach Dave Huntley. "He continues to be a big part of our team's success."

Iannucci currently leads the NLL in goal scoring with 63 goals, 20 more than his closest competition. The Hofstra University graduate also has 27 assists and has scooped 122 loose balls through 14 games this season. The 26 year old was drafted by the Wings in the first round (eighth overall) in the 2006 NLL Entry Draft.

The Wings, who are 9-5 and in second place in the East Division, face the New York Titans in their final regular season home game at Wachovia Center this Saturday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. on "Dollar Dog Night."
