August 18, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release
The Philadelphia Wings acquired seventh-year goaltender Ken Montour from the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for the Wings third round pick (30th overall) in the 2006 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.
"Montour is a strong goaltender, who can give us some quality minutes between the pipes," said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "Our team is much stronger defensively by adding a veteran goaltender like Montour."
Montour was selected in the fourth round (26th overall) by Albany in the 1999 NLL Entry Draft. Playing in four games last season with Buffalo, Montour compiled a 1-1 record with a 12.84 goals-against average and a .775 save percentage. Montour played in seven games with Arizona before being traded Buffalo. Montour compiled a 4-0 record with a 11.23 goals-against average and .735 save percentage while with Arizona.
The 5'11", 215-pound Six Nations, Ontario native has spent his summer playing for the Six Nations Chiefs in the Ontario Lacrosse Association. Over the summer, he has posted 11.44 goals against average in 645 minutes played this season.
The 2006 Entry Draft will take place in New York City on Wednesday, September 13th at 8PM Eastern. The Entry Draft, which will consist of six rounds, will be held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. The Wings now hold the fourth, fifth, and eighth overall selections in the first round of 2006 NLL Entry Draft.
