
Wilson's Homer Lifts Stars Past Smokies 4-2

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.. - Steffan Wilson hit his first Southern League home run with a three run shot in the eighth inning and it was enough to give the Huntsville Stars a 4-2 win over the Tennessee Smokies in Game One of the North Division Championship Series.
Marcos Mateo took the loss for Tennessee, allowing the Wilson homer in the bottom of eighth. Casey Baron took the win for Huntsville with Robert Wooten coming in and retiring the final two Smokies to earn the save.
Huntsville scored the first run of the game in the fourth, as Lorenzo Cain's RBI single scored Taylor Green.
The Smokies quickly responded with a rally in the fifth. Tyler Colvin tied the game with a leadoff solo home run, and Jonathan Mota's RBI single gave Tennessee a 2-1 lead.
Starter Jeremy Papelbon took a no decision, pitching four innings allowing one run on three hits.
The series continues tomorrow at Joe W. Davis Stadium at 8:05, with Casey Coleman pitching for Tennessee (14-6) against Huntsville's Nick Green (1-6).
