St. John's IceCaps News Release
Danny Williams, President and CEO of the St. John's IceCaps, is encouraging all fans attending games this weekend to ride the wave and wear white in support of the IceCaps.
"Our fans have demonstrated incredible support for our team during the playoff games so far, and we want to continue to show our players and coaches and the entire staff that we are behind them all the way," said Mr. Williams. "I attended the games in Wilkes-Barre and our guys dug deep and put everything they had into those games. I spoke to many of our players and they all expressed what a thrill it is to play at home where the fan support has been absolutely outstanding and inspiring. The team is giving spectators superb hockey, so as they return home let's get behind them and let them know that they have our full support by washing Mile One in a white wave again this weekend."
Fans have been encouraged to wear white and be loud throughout the Calder Cup playoffs to create a "Whiteout" effect at Mile One Centre. The IceCaps are asking fans to continue with the practice as the race for the Calder Cup continues.
The IceCaps and Penguins play Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series Friday night at Mile One (7:30 p.m.). Game 7 goes Saturday at Mile One, if necessary. St. John's leads the best-of-seven series three games to two.
