Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers Announce End-Of-The-Season Charity Auction

Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are conducting an end-of-the-season charity auction now through July 20th, when the team will host the Albany Conquest in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's regular season finale. Among the items available are game-worn away jerseys, a Johnny Unitas autographed football, and much more.

Fans may bid on all items during the Pioneers two remaining home games at the First Union Arena. Bids may also be placed via telephone to Ms. Carlene Kratz, Pioneers' Community Relations Manager, at (570)-270-5813. All proceeds from the auction benefit the Pioneers' United Way Charity Fund, contributing to numerous charitable organizations throughout the Northeastern Pennsylvania.

"There has been a lot of interest generated by the auction already," said Pioneers General Manager Rick Sneed. "This is a great opportunity to acquire a piece of Pioneers history."

Telephone bids will be accepted up to Friday, July 19th at 5:00pm. Bidding in person will continue through the end of the third quarter of the July 20th game at the Arena, with winners being announced during the fourth quarter.

Bids given over voice mail will not be counted.
