Wenatchee Wild News Release

Cloquet, MN. - The Minnesota Wilderness, with their backs firmly pressed up against the wall, blanked the Wenatchee Wild 4-0 Sunday night at the Northwoods Credit Union Arena, in game three of the NAHL's best-of-five Midwest Division semifinals to stay alive in the series.

The Wilderness opened the scoring late in the first period, on an unassisted goal by Jaycob McCombs. The goal, at 18:06, put Minnesota on top, 1-0.

Jakob Romo scored 45 seconds into the second; with the unassisted goal giving the Wilderness a 2-0 lead. Romo scored again, this time assisted by Thomas Lindstrom at 12:52, giving Minnesota a 3-0 advantage.

Michael Kovach scored unassisted into an empty net for the only goal of the third period at 19:24 and the Wilderness ended up winning by the count of 4-0. "No puck luck tonight" said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach Bliss Littler. "I thought we definitely carried most of the play, they just happened to score on the chances they got. When we made a mistake they made us pay for it, but we definitely had a lot of chances. Just need to find a way to get it past them. Looking forward to having it at our place on Friday."

The Wild outshot Minnesota 24-22 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, Minnesota) made 18 saves for Wenatchee; Kasimir Kaskisuo had 24 stops for the Wilderness. The Wild was 0-for-4 on the power play and 1-of-1 on the penalty kill.

Wenatchee now leads the best-of-five series, 2-1.

The series will shift to Wenatchee for games 4 and 5 (If necessary) on Friday and Saturday, April 11th and 12th with game time set for 7:05pm PDT both nights. Individual and group game tickets for all home playoff games are on sale now. Call 509.888.PUCK (7825).
