
Wildcats sweep Spirit in exhibition openers

WEEK IN REVIEW: The Wildcats started the preseason in a timely fashion this past weekend, sweeping the Springfield Spirit in a two game series. The Wildcats will continue preseason play next weekend in Frisco, Texas against the Texas Tornado. The official game times have been moved for these games. The games will now be Saturday, September 11 at 1:30 p.m., and Sunday, September 12 at 1:30 p.m.
UPCOMING EVENTS/APPEARANCES - The Wildcats play their only preseason home games Saturday, September 18, at 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, September, 19 at 2:00 p.m., against the Texarkana Bandits. The Wildcats will be partnering with the Lions Club for these two games with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Lions Club. Tickets for each game are $8 general admission.
Tickets purchased for Saturday's game, which are $8 general admission, can also be used as access into the fairgrounds during the Founder Lions Club Texas Oklahoma Fair.
Tickets can be purchased at the Kay Yeager Coliseum box office, as well as through the Lions Club.
TEAM NEWS: Six players were released over the weekend as the coaches work to trim the number of members on the Wildcats roster to 22. Currently there are 26 players on the team, leaving more evaluations and decisions to be made before the official roster is in place.
This season, coach Brian Meisner and assistant coach Mike Perkins look to build on past success in placing players with college programs. The coaches have helped place many players in college at the Division I and Division III levels.
