BOUCHERVILLE, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 - The Moncton Wildcats have decided to appeal the Disciplinary Prefect's decision not to suspend Cape Breton Screaming Eagles defenseman Mathieu Brodeur following a hit from behind which occurred during last Saturday's game. Brodeur was assessed a five-minute major and a game-misconduct penalty on the play.
The Wildcats sent a video sequence of the play to the Disciplinary Prefect a few days ago to ask for supplementary discipline.
QMJHL Administrative Rules state that appeals are heard by the Commissioner. A hearing will be held in the next few days with the parties involved.
A decision will be announced at the conclusion of the appeals process.
