The Kelowna Falcons tied it up late, but a wild pitch ended the game in the 12th inning in a 3-2 loss to Yakima Valley Friday night in Washington.

The Falcons got on the board first in the opening inning as Max Carter lifted a Sac Fly to center field.

The Pippins responded with runs in the 3rd and 7th innings as it was Mitch Skaggs doing the damage with a pair of RBI singles.

Curtis Taylor went 5 innings for Kelowna, giving up 1 run on 3 hits and walking 3.

The Falcons scored to tie the ballgame up in the 8th when Skaggs couldn't make the play on Wade Gulden's grounder, allowing Kirby McGuire to score from 2nd base.

Blake Peters worked 4.1 scoreless innings, and gave the ball up in the bottom of the 12th to Andre Jackson with a pair of runners on.

After a walk, Jackson uncorked a wild pitch and the Pippins walked off with the victory.

The Falcons will look to even up the series and the season series with the Pippins tomorrow night, after falling to 1.5 games back with 3 games in hand.

Nat Hamby is the probable starter for Kelowna against Darrion Simons for Yakima Valley. First pitch is 7:05 and can be heard live on www.kelownafalcons.com.
