Wild Get Defensive with More Signings

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) has added two more players to the defensive side of the ball for the 2009 season. The Wild have added defensive lineman Dayon Benson and defensive back Andre Brown. Benson joins the Wild with two years of indoor football experience while 2009 will be Brown's first season of professional football.

In 2008, Benson played for the Erie RiverRats of the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA). During the campaign, he recorded a team leading 13 sacks and was named to the All-AIFA Team. In 2007, Benson suited up for the Erie Freeze of the AIFA and the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Pioneers of Arenafootball2. The Wilmington, DE native played his college football at Central State College in Wilberforce, Ohio. Benson was at Central States for the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

Brown played college football at Western Carolina University from 2001-2005 as a defensive back. In his senior season in 2005, Brown played in nine games and recorded 25 tackles. In 2004, Brown helped the Catamounts to the 12th ranked defense in NCAA Division I-AA. Brown recorded 20 tackles and played in all 11 games during the 2004 season. The Ashville, NC native recorded tallied 74 tackles in his career at WCU. He was also a two-time All-Southern Conference selection in track.
