
Wild Fall in Game 1

WENATCHEE, Wash. - The WenatcheeWild dropped the first game of a 2-game series Friday to the Fairbanks IceDogs, 5-0.
After a scoreless first period,Gabe Levin scored the first goal of the game for the Ice Dogs 53 seconds intothe second stanza when he cleaned up a rebound off of Sean O'Rourke's one-timerfrom the top of the near circle. Alec Hajdukovich also assisted. Hajdukovichwent on to give Fairbanks a 2-goal cushion near the midpoint of the secondframe on a power-play goal from the slot. J.T. Osborn and Levin assisted.
Fairbanks tacked on three moregoals in the third period. Pete Spratte scored the first of those markers on adeflection 4:59 into the frame. Osborn and O'Rourke scored the last two goals,both of which came during power play situations.
Steve Perry stopped all 33 shotshe faced to earn his second shutout of the season. Wild netminder Robert Nichols (Dallas, Texas) made 15saves but suffered just his fourth regulation loss of the season. Fairbanksscored three power-play goals on six chances. Wenatchee went 0-for-3 on itsman-advantages.
Levin figured in on all five ofthe Ice Dogs' goals. He scored the first goal of the game and assisted on theteam's other goals. O'Rourke scored a goal and added two assists while Osbornand Hajdukovich each scored a goal with an assist.
The Wild (22-13-4) and Ice Dogs(24-9-7) will conclude this weekend's 2-game series on Saturday. Faceoff is setfor 7:05 p.m.
