Wild Close Regular Season In Omaha On Saturday

The Wichita Wild will wrap up the 2010 regular season with a game against their biggest rival on Saturday night in Omaha, NE as the Wild take on the Omaha Beef. The Wild have won four consecutive games in the series vs. the Beef in one of the most heated rivalries in the IFL. Kickoff for the game is set for 7:05 PM. Omaha comes into the game as one of the hottest teams in the IFL. The Beef have won six out of their last seven games after starting the season 2-4. Wichita won the two previous meetings this season by a combined 16 points.

Omaha is led on offense by Ben Sankey, who is widely considered to be one of the top quarterbacks in the league. Sankey leads the league in touchdown passes with 59 and ranks second in passing yards with 2,531. His top target is Luke McArdle who is second in the league with 74 receptions. The Beef offense ranks second in the IFL averaging 53.0 points per game.

McArdle and Wild wide receiver Clinton Solomon will be battling for the IFL's receiving yards title during the game. Solomon is currently second with 909, just 13 yards behind Kevin Conception of Rochester who has already finished their regular season. McArdle is fourth in the league with 866 yards.

The Wild will clinch a home field playoff game if they win or lose by less than 49. Should Wichita host the playoff game, it will take place at Hartman Arena on Saturday, June 26 at 7:05 PM.
