Venom Game Preview: Amarillo at San Angelo

Amarillo, TX 6/18/10- The Amarillo Venom will embark on their final regular season game this Saturday June 19th at 7:05PM CST as they travel to San Angelo to take on the Stampede Express in the San Angelo Coliseum.

Amarillo (11-2) defeated the Austin Turfcats last week at the Amarillo Civic Center 39-16. Amarillo's defensive backs Darrius Battles collected two interceptions (total four) as defensive back Cashmin Thomas added one interception (total 9) and returned the ball for a touchdown. The Venom defense continues to lead the IFL with 26 interceptions. Quarterback Sean Setzer stepped up last week playing his first game as quarterback and scored his first rushing touchdown.

San Angelo (9-4) will play their final regular season tilt with home field advantage. Both teams have clinched a playoff spot making the game more intriguing. Wide receiver TyJuan Manning had 73 yards and two touchdowns against Corpus Christi last week as running back Derrick Ross rushed 16 times for 99 yards.
