Wild Bounce Back Against Avalanche

PALMER, Alaska - The WenatcheeWild concluded its 6-game Alaskan road trip Saturday with a 2-0 victory overthe Alaska Avalanche at the Palmer Ice Arena. The Wild compiled a 5-1 recordduring the road trip, matching a franchise-best mark that was set at the end ofthe 2009-10 season.

Wild goaltender Greg Lewis (Mars, Pa.) stopped all 21of Alaska's shots to record his third straight shutout in as many starts. Lewishas not allowed a goal in 179 minutes and 30 seconds, which is a new franchiserecord, besting the mark of 161 minutes and 30 seconds that Robert Nichols (Dallas, Texas) setearlier this season.

After a scoreless first frame, Trevor Husch (Plainfield, Ill.) gavethe Wild the lead 6:52 into the second period during a man-advantage. Max McHugh (Edgewood, Wash.) carriedthe puck behind the cage before centering it to Husch on the doorstep for thetap in.

McHugh made it 2-0 a little overthree minutes later. Entering the zone down the left wing, McHugh launched ashot from the bottom of the near circle that beat Avs netminder NickKulmanovsky. Blake Saylor (Centennial,Colo.) and Sam Johnson (Dallas,Texas) assisted.

Kulmanovsky made 26 saves on 28shots but suffered his fourth loss of the season.

McHugh recorded the onlymulti-point game with a goal and an assist. Wenatchee scored one power playgoal on six opportunities. Alaska was 0-for-5 on power play chances.

The Wild (9-5-2) will return tothe Town Toyota Center for a 2-game series against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs onNov. 18-19. Both games will beginat 7:05 p.m.
