Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Green Bay Gamblers goaltender Adam Wilcox turned away 26 Waterloo Black Hawks shots at Young Arena Saturday, leading the visitors to a 4-0 victory.
Green Bay pulled ahead just 1:51 into the game; Sheldon Dries picked up a loose puck and slammed it into the net after Dan Molenaar's long shot was deflected at close range. The second Gambler goal happened under similar circumstances at 9:28, when a Dries chance from the high slot changed speeds off of a deflection, leaving Alex Kile with an open side.
Penalty minutes mounted in the second, but Green Bay recorded the lone goal at even strength when Grigory Dikushen swatted a puck out of midair and into the net from the slot at 13:42. The Gamblers recorded their final goal 3:52 into the third. Kyle Novak squeaked the puck between Eamon McAdam's left skate and the post to cap a breakaway.
The Black Hawks play just a single home game next weekend as well, hosting the Chicago Steel on Friday, November 11th. The Veteran's Day contest will be highlighted by special patriotic jerseys, sponsored by the Screaming Eagle American Bar & Grill. Proceeds from a postgame auction of the sweaters will be donation to the Sullivan-Hartogh-Davis Post 730 Honor Flight.
