Published on January 28, 2013 under Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

GLENDALE, AZ (January 28, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Wichita Thunder forward Matt Robinson has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 27, 2013.

In recognition of his achievement, Robinson will receive a special gift from Oakley. To learn more about all of Oakley's products, visit www.oakley.com.

After re-signing with the Thunder on January 11, Robinson has picked up right where he left off during the 2011-12 season when he was a league Most Valuable Player finalist. In seven games with the Thunder this season, the Surrey, British Columbia native has five goals and three assists. Last season, he led the team with 34 goals (58 points) including 10 game winning goals.

Last week, the 6-1, 185-pound forward scored four goals with two assists and a +5 plus/minus rating in two games. Robinson also netted the game winning goal in both of the Thunder's games. In Saturday's 7-0 win against Denver, Robinson's even strength goal six minutes into the contest proved to be all his team would need. In another blowout win on Sunday, Robinson scored a hat trick with a pair of assists figuring in on five of the Thunder's seven goals in their 7-1 win over the Cutthroats.

Robinson began the season in Alaska (ECHL) where he totaled five points (1-4=5) in 17 games.
