November 23, 2011 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Wichita Wings News Release

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) will take on Eastern divisional opponent, the Norfolk SharX, this Friday in the Wings fifth regular season game. Kick-off of the game is scheduled at 7:35pm (CT) on Friday, November 25th at Hartman Arena. Both teams look to get their first win as both have struggled to gain a foothold in their inaugural MISL season.

Norfolk has fallen to Eastern Division rivals Syracuse Silver Knights and the Baltimore Blast in this young MISL season. The SharX have failed to keep their opponents out of the net, giving up 44 points while only scoring 14 points during their two game losing streak. The SharX look to kick start their offense this weekend. Following the matchup with the Wings, Norfolk will travel to Missouri to take on the Comets in their first matchup of the season.

The Wichita Wings have been very close to knocking off some of the biggest names of the MISL in their first four games, but have yet to come away with a victory. The Wings played host to the Baltimore Blast last Saturday night falling 12-6 in a well fought match by both sides. The Wings look to turn their season around this weekend, starting with their home game against the Norfolk SharX. Following Friday night's game, the Wings will hit the road, traveling to Milwaukee to hopefully gain some revenge for the teams early season loss against the Wave. That game will be played on Sunday, November 27th, kicking off at 3:00pm (CT).

Key match-ups: Jamar Beasley vs. Jamie Lieberman Leading the Wichita Wings, Jamar has tallied 6 goals and 3 assists in 4 games. Norfolk goalkeeper, Jamie Lieberman, and defense have conceded 20.06 goals against average. Beasley will look to continue his goal scoring form, while Lieberman and company look to shut Beasley down and force other Wings to step up.

Keep an eye on: Chile Farias The Wings forward has yet to make a scoring impact this season. Farias has tallied 2 goals and 5 assists as he has been looking to incorporate all his teammates. Farias was named the 2009-2010 MISL Most Valuable Player of the year playing for Monterrey. Farias will look to get back to his goal scoring form this weekend.
