Lancers Ready for Two this Week

(Rochester, NY) ‚¬Â¦ For the second time in five days the Rochester Lancers will take on the Syracuse Silver Knights tonight at the OnCenter in Syracuse. The third of four meetings this season, the two teams have split the previous two matches with each side claiming victory at home. The week will be highlighted with a visit from the Baltimore Blast to the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, November 26 at 1:00 p.m.

Syracuse enters the week leading the Eastern Division a half game ahead of Baltimore and a game and a half over Rochester. Syracuse's 70 points for leads all MISL teams offensively, while Rochester's 42 against is third best overall. The Silver Knights continue to boast the two top point getters in indoor soccer with Andre Berenzon leading the way with 20 points and Slavisa Ubiparapovic close behind with 19. Rochester's Lubo ranks tied for sixth with another Silver Knight, Alex Megson with 13 points. The match in Syracuse will kick-off at 7:00 p.m.

Rochester will return to action at home this Saturday, when they welcome the Baltimore Blast at the Blue Cross Arena. The Blast are 2-1 and one game ahead of Rochester in the MISL standings. Former Rochester Rhinos Max Ferdinand and Neto rank first and second on the Blast in scoring with eight and five points respectively. Goalkeeper Sagu was named the MISL Player of the Week after making 32 saves in back-to-back wins against Missouri and Wichita last weekend.

Rochester's Andrew Hoxie had a big night last weekend scoring his first two indoor goals against Syracuse. The 25-year native of Enid, Oklahoma also contributed an assist in the game. Goalkeeper Pat Hannigan solidified his status in goal for Rochester, making 21 saves in his Lancer debut, which tied him with Wichita's Sanaldo Caravalho for the top effort in goal this season.
