May 24, 2012 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Wichita Wild News Release
WICHITA, KS - The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) will hit the road to take on the Allen Wranglers in the two team's fourth matchup of the 2012 season; Allen currently holds a 2-1 advantage over the Wild. The game will take place on Saturday, May 26th with kickoff scheduled at 7:05pm (CST) in Allen, Texas at the Allen Event Center.
Allen won the first two matchups by a combined 33 points, but Wichita flexed their muscles in the last matchup winning 55-54 on a last minute drive. Wichita is currently one of the hottest teams in the IFL; the Wild have won 5 of their last 6 games and are on a 3 game win streak going into this Week 14 matchup. Wichita (5-5) is currently in 4th place in the Intense Conference trailing the Allen Wranglers (6-4) who currently sit in 3rd place. Wichita can gain a solid hold of their playoff chances with a win this weekend, which would put Allen and Wichita in a tie for 3rd place in the Intense Conference at 6-5. Wichita has beaten Allen, Omaha Beef, and Nebraska Danger in their past three games.
Allen will enter Saturday night's game coming off a heart-stopping 74-73 overtime defeat to the Everett Raptors last Saturday night. Starting the season off hot with a 5-1 record, Allen has cooled as of late, losing 3 of their last 4 games with their one win coming against the Intense Conference bottom dwellers the New Mexico Stars (2-8). Allen must win this game to bolster their chances of hosting a playoff game in the post season.
