STEALTH HEAD COACH AT A GLANCE: Sean Ponder begins his second season in arena football. He took over the Stealth last season after seven games. Ponder led the Stealth to their second consecutive playoff berth in af2. He brings over five years of college coaching experience to Wichita. He previously served as the offensive coordinator at Orange Coast Community College in California. At Orange Coast, he helped turn around a program that had not won over two games the past three seasons into a junior college powerhouse.
OKLAHOMA CITY HEAD COACH AT A GLANCE: Gary Reasons is in his first season in arena football and af2. He played in the National Football League for the New York Giants. During his stint with the Giants, Reasons was a part of one of the greatest linebacker corps in NFL history. He was known for his smart and hard-hitting style of play. Reasons was a fourth round pick by the New York Giants in 1984 and won a Super Bowl in 1987 and 1991. His last NFL season was in 1992 with the Cincinnati Bengals..

THE LAST TIME WE MET (A recap of the last meeting): The last time these two teams met the Stealth dominated the Yard Dawgz from start to finish and cruised to a 70-35 win on June 12th in the Kansas Coliseum. The Stealth were paced by quarterback Jonathan Beasley who finished the night 19-of-25 for 269 yards and seven touchdowns. Offensive Specialist Damon Thompson caught six passes for 111 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensively, Henry Bryant paced the Stealth pass rush. Bryant was playing in his fourth game with the Stealth and set a new franchise record of four sacks in a single game.

Yard Dawgz players Drew Mitchell and Matt Walls both have spent time with the Wichita Stealth. Mitchell played during the 2003 season and Walls was in Wichita in 2001 and 2002.

LOOKING BACK: The Stealth jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead over the division leading Tulsa Talons but were unable to hold the momentum throughout the game, while Tulsa shut down the Wichita offense in the second half and scored the game winning touchdown with 48 seconds left in the game to seal the victory. The Stealth were led by Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Game Damon Thompson. Thompson finished the night with six catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns. The Stealth fell to 7-6 after the loss and Tulsa improved to 10-3.

STEALTH PLAYER MILESTONES THIS SEASON:
· Ty Ardoin and Brian Livingston both have passed Michael Seahorn for most tackles in a career. As of this week, the duo are sitting at 100.5 tackles for their Stealth careers.


· Henry Bryant broke the Stealth single game record for sacks with his four sack performance in week 11 versus the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz.

UPCOMING STEALTH PLAYER MILESTONES:
· Damon Thompson is only six points away from tying Pascal Volz as the Stealth single season scoring leader. Volz scored 156 points in 2001. Thompson is sitting at 150 points so far this season with three games left to play.
· Damon Thompson is only one touchdown away from tying Pascal Volz as the single season touchdown and receiving touchdown leader in Stealth history. Volz had 26 touchdowns in 2001.
· Anthony Griffin is two touchdowns away from becoming the all-time single season rushing touchdown record holder.

The Stealth will take to the road for the final time of the 2004 regular season next week when they travel to take on the
Laredo Law. The Stealth lead the season series 2-0 over the Law. The Stealth will conclude the 2004 regular season on July
31st when they come home to face the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. The season series is tied 1-1 with the Dorados.

FLY-BY’s: (A look at team trends and tidbits):
STEALTH RETURNERS: The Stealth return eight members from a team that recorded the franchise record for wins last season. They return defensive specialist Ty Ardoin, offensive/defensive lineman Dustin Fish, offensive/defensive lineman Cliff Holloman, wide receiver/defensive back Brian Livingston, fullback/linebacker Jeff Macrea, fullback/linebacker Daren Williams, offensive/defensive lineman Markevius Woods, and offensive specialist Michael Dritlein. Fish and Dritlein have both been placed on long term injured reserve.

GETTING DEFENSIVE: After finishing the 2003 season ranked near the middle of the af2 in almost every defensive category, the Stealth have turned it around completely in 2004. Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Troy Biladeau has his defense near the top of every defensive category. The Stealth rank 5th in scoring defense (only allowing 42.4 points per game), 3rd in total defense (224.6 yards per game), 4th in pass defense (211.8 yards per game), and 9th in pass defense rating (102.9 rating).

TOP GUNS: (A look at players to watch):
INSTANT OFFENSE: The Stealth offense was strengthened the week of the Green Bay game when they were assigned offensive specialist Damon Thompson. Thompson played last season with the Richmond Speed and finished the season fourth in the af2 in receiving yardage with 1,569 yards and 27 touchdowns. In ten games with the Stealth, Thompson has caught 59 passes for 920 yards and 25 touchdowns.

RETURNING ON A MISSION: Stealth wide receiver/defensive back Brian Livingston returns to Wichita for his second straight year and in pursuit of an af2 championship. Last year, Livingston led the Stealth in tackles, interceptions, and forced fumbles. This season he is second on the team in tackles and is tied for the team lead in interceptions. He has been named a game award winner four times this season. The most recent was in week nine versus Laredo when he was named the U.S. Army Ironman of the Game.

SACK MASTER: Stealth offensive/defensive lineman Henry Bryant joined the Stealth on May 24, 2004 and has made an immediate impact on the defensive pass rush of the Stealth. Bryant has already shot to the team lead in sacks with 6.5 with only seven games under his belt.
