WHL Playoff Hockey Live On SHAW: Sunday, March 28 - Kootenay Ice at Medicine Hat Tigers

Calgary, AB - Emerson Etem and the Medicine Hat Tigers welcome Dustin Sylvester and the Kootenay Ice for Game 6 of their Husky WHL Eastern Conference quarter-final series on Sunday night.

Sunday's WHL playoff contest between the Ice and Tigers can be seen LIVE throughout western Canada on SHAW and SHAW Direct channel 299 (6:00pm MST).

The Tigers defeated the Ice 5-2 in Game 5 of the series in Cranbrook, B.C., on Thursday night for their third straight win in the series, and now have the chance to win the series and move on to the second round of the post-season with a victory on Sunday at home. The Tigers have outscored the Ice 14-4 over the last three games after being outscored 10-2 through the first two contests. Etem leads the Tigers with three post-season goals.

The Ice now trail the best-of-seven series 2-3, having dropped the last three games after building up a 2-0 lead in the series after the opening two contests, and now must win in Medicine Hat to force a seventh and deciding game. The Ice have been held scoreless on all 12 power play chances they had in the first two games of the series in Medicine Hat. Sylvester has been held off the score sheet in each of the last four games.

Should the Ice win on Sunday, they will host the Tigers for Game 7 of the series on Tuesday in Cranbrook, B.C.

KAL TIRE WHL WESTERN CONFERENCE

Kevin Sundher and the Chilliwack Bruins host Kruise Reddick and the Tri-City Americans for Game 6 of their Kal Tire WHL Western Conference quarter-final series on Sunday.

The Bruins pulled off a 4-3 overtime victory in Kennewick, WA, over the Ams in Game 5 of the series on Friday night, but still trail the series 3-2. The Bruins will need to win tonight's Game 6 at home if they want to force a Game 7 in Kennewick on Tuesday. Sundher has three goals and four points through five games of the series.

The Americans suffered an overtime loss in Game 5 of the series on Friday, but still hold a lead in the series and have the chance to clinch the series and move on to the second round of the playoffs with a road victory on Sunday. The Ams' power play has struck for nine goals on 28 chances through the first five games of the series. Reddick has scored four goals and seven points through five games of the series.

The Americans will host Game 7 of the series, if necessary, on Tuesday night.
