
WHL Commissioner to Be Honored By University of Saskatchewan

Calgary - The Western Hockey League announced today that WHL Commissioner Ron Robison will be honored in Saskatoon Friday, September 14th as one of the University of Saskatchewan's 100 Alumni of Influence. The selection of the 100 Alumni of Influence is part of the University's Centennial Celebration. The 100 Alumni of Influence recognizes University of Saskatchewan alumni whose endeavors have made a profound and lasting contribution to the University, the province, the country and the world. The selection committee identified the 100 influential alumni from a pool of more than 120,000 graduates.
Robison, a former hockey player and coach at the University of Saskatchewan, is entering his eighth season as Commissioner of the WHL. Prior to joining the WHL in September 2000, Robison held senior management positions from 1981 to 1997 with Hockey Canada. Other 100 Alumni of Influence to be honored by the University of Saskatchewan include former WHL and National Team Coach Dave King and Calgary Flames co-owners Daryl 'Doc' Seaman and Murray Edwards.
