Published on September 15, 2023 under Western Hockey League (WHL) News Release
Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today a new partnership with Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria.
Dr. Oetker, established in 1960, launched Giuseppe Pizzeria in 2015 - the latest addition to its line of frozen pizzas. Since its launch, Dr. Oetker's Giuseppe Pizzeria has been supporting hockey and local communities across Canada.
"As a Canadian made brand, Giuseppe Pizzeria has a long history of supporting small, local communities across Canada and our Practice with a Pro campaign is just the latest example of the strong, authentic connections the brand has been building since its inception in 2015," said Indresh Kohli, Executive Head of Marketing, Dr. Oetker Canada Ltd. "Last year we saw an amazing response from teams across Alberta, telling us why they have the greatest teammates both on and off the ice. We couldn't have been happier with all the wonderful submissions. We look forward to not only expanding this program into Saskatchewan and Manitoba but also for the partnership with our newest teammate the WHL so we can continue building meaningful connections with Canadians and rewarding great teammates across the country."
As the newest corporate partner of the WHL, Dr. Oetker will be visible in six WHL Western Canadian markets, with game nights in Brandon, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw, Red Deer and Swift Current.
"The WHL is excited to welcome Dr. Oetker Canada as our newest corporate partner," commented WHL Commissioner Ron Robison. "With both of our organizations fully committed to hockey and delivering value to local communities across Western Canada, Dr. Oetker and the WHL will make great teammates."
Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria believes in the power of great teammates. To celebrate the teams and towns that are built on the foundation of great teamwork, Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria will be awarding one lucky team in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to add one more teammate to their practice - WHL Alumnus and Hockey Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla.
Minor hockey players in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are encouraged to share with Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria why their minor hockey team has the greatest teammates. For more information, visit giuseppepracticewithapro.com.
