
Whitecaps FC Re-Sign Midfielder Mauro Rosales

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that the club has re-signed attacking midfielder Mauro Rosales. Per Major League Soccer and club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We're very pleased to bring Mauro back," said Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson. "Mauro was a crucial part of our run to the playoffs last season. His experience and leadership will continue to be valuable to our squad."
Rosales, 33, was acquired by Whitecaps FC last August from former MLS club Chivas USA. The 5-foot-8, 165-pound midfielder recorded three assists in 11 regular season appearances and one playoff start with the Blue and White.
Between Whitecaps FC and Chivas USA, Rosales had a combined 11 assists in 2014, which were the eighth most in MLS and second most on the 'Caps. His 45 assists since joining MLS in 2011 are tied for the second most during that period.
The native of Villa Maria, Argentina, who is second on Whitecaps FC with 118 regular season appearances in MLS, previously played with Seattle Sounders FC, Dutch side AFC Ajax, as well as Argentine sides Newell's Old Boys and River Plate.
At the international level, Rosales was a part of Argentina's U-20 national team that won the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship and the U-23 side that won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
