
What A Rush! Dixon Leads Bucks To OT Win

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League beat the Rapid City Rush 3-2 in overtime Sunday afternoon at the Laredo Entertainment Center.
Rookie Jason Dixon scored off of his own rebound just 25 seconds into overtime, as he took a pass from Alex Goupil and streaked down the left side of the ice. The tally was Dixon's third of the campaign.
With the win the Bucks improve to 3-2, and took two of three games on the three game weekend. Laredo moves into a three-way tie atop the Southeast Division with six points.
Sebastien Centomo stopped 28 of 30 Rush shots to earn his third win of the year in net for Laredo.
The Bucks tied the game up 6:44 into the third period, when Igor Agarunov potted a long rebound from the left circle past Miguel Beaudry. The goal was Agarunov's second of the season.
Laredo outshot Rapid City 35-30 in the contest.
Laredo (2-1 at home) scored first for the fifth straight time this season, when Jeff Bes found Serge Dube streaking down the slot, Dube then sent a snap shot past Miguel Beaudry to give the Bucks a 1-0 lead. The tally was Dube's first of the season, coming 4:25 into the first period. Matt Summers picked up an assist on the goal as well. Bes played in his 300th career game as a Buck Sunday.
Rapid City (1-0-4) came right back and scored two straight goals to take the lead over Laredo.
The Rush's first tally came on the power-play with 6:30 left in the period, as Les Reaney snuck past the Bucks defense and backhanded a shot past Sebastien Centomo, who was screened out of the crease.
The Rush took a 2-1 lead with 2:!4 left in the first period, as Chris Lipsett skated past the blue line to the right circle and sent a wrist shot through Centomo's five hole. The strike was Lipsett's fifth goal of the season.
Rapid City outshot Laredo in the first 20 minutes 12-10.
The second period was scoreless, but the intensity picked up as the teams combined for 18 penalty mintues in the stanza, 10 for Laredo and eight for Rapid City.
Laredo got themselves into penalty trouble very early in the second period, taking two penalties in the first 37 seconds of the period. The Bucks though, killed off the Rush five-on-three man advantage.
Each team had quality scoring chances in the period, but both goaltenders came up with tough saves.
The Rush outshot the Bucks 12-10 for the second straight period.
Beaudry stopped 32 of 35 Lardo shots he faced in net for Rapid City.
