Danbury Whalers News Release


With a Danbury Whalers goal by #83 Ryan Patsch with 1:40 remaining in the 3rd period, the Danbury Whalers have captured their first ever Regular Season Championship. Patsch's goal lifted the Whalers to a 3-2 victory over the Dayton Demonz. The game was played at the Hara Arena in Dayton. This was the biggest regular season road win in club's 4-year history.

The regular season title puts the Whalers back into the Finals for the 3rd straight season. The Whalers won last season's Championship with a 3-game sweep over Dayton.

The Whalers finish the season with 117 points, the Demonz tallied 116.

Dayton will now play Watertown in a best of three series on April 6, 7, & 8. All games will be played in Dayton.

There are two potential schedules for the Finals series.

If Dayton wins against Watertown, the schedule will be

Championship Round

Game 1- Friday, April 11th at 7:35 PM

Game 2 -Saturday, April 12th 7:35 PM

Game 5 - Monday, April 21st 7:35 PM (if necessary)

Games 3 & 4 would be in Dayton on April 18 & 19

Championship Round (if against Watertown)

Game 1 - Thursday, April 10th at 7:35 PM

Game 2- Friday, April 11th at 7:35 PM

Game 3 -Saturday, April 12th 7:35 PM

Game 4 - Sunday, April 13st 5:05 PM (if necessary)

Game 5 - Monday, April 14th at 7:35 PM (if necessary)
