Westerners And Blue Sox Battle Tonight
June 26, 2011 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Danbury Westerners News Release
Last night, after a week of rainouts, the Westerners got back to work and punished the Old Orchard Beach club at mushy Rogers Park. Scott DeCecco (USC Upstate) got a well-earned win as multiple players contributed to the old fashioned slugfest.
Tonight, the weather looks more promising as the league leading Holyoke Blue Sox make their first visit to Rogers Park.
Hard-throwing Nick Williams (Tennessee) will be on the bump for Danbury. The Westerners will honor the Danbury Youth Baseball Organization's T- Ball league, (DAYO T-Ball).
The weather looks perfect for an evening at the ball yard. Come out and cheer all of the Danbury's baseball teams. 6:30 first pitch.
On Monday, June 27th the Danbury Westerners will host their first Summer Baseball Camp at Rogers Park.
Westy & the Westerners will be at C. H. Booth Library in Newtown at Noon to kick of their ERA Summer Reading Program.
Jamie Shevchik, Dave Ciocchi and Mike Ford will be at Fenway Park in Boston to play Team USA. (Gametime 12:00 available for view on Teamline)
Then, the Westerners will be at Uno's Restaurant in the Danbury Fair Mall from 6:00 to 8:00pm to serve as guest waiters and sign autographs. A portion of the proceeds received from this event will be donated by Uno's to the Danbury Westerners.
