WV Blazers basketball is more than just on-court abilities. The Blazers serve as role models and mentors for youth in Southern WV and participate in many community events, including visiting schools and working directly with children. The purpose of the WV Blazers is to raise money and awareness for drug, tobacco, and crime prevention programs for at-risk youth in Southern W, as well as to provide positive role models for youth. Community participation is equally important to on-court activities.

We have a zero tolerance policy for use of tobacco, illegal drugs and crime. We WILL complete a background check on any player that is selected in return for the August invitational, from which the final roster will be selected. Drug testing is also part of a Blazers' contract. If you have a desire to play basketball for an organization that provides services to youth and community, and you can and will abide by the Blazers' policies, then please join us for tryouts. For more information, email cindybha@comcast.net or visit www.wvblazers.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
