
Blazers Participate In Community Activities

West Virginia Blazers News Release
Bluefield, WV. The ABA West Virginia professional basketball team is participating in a variety of communities activities during the spring and summer providing mentorship and support to local organizations. Members of the WV Blazers participated in Mt. Hope Elementary Career Day at the Mt. Hope Elementary School and provided tattoos and mini-balls that were used for prizes and games. The team also helped the United Way of Southern WV and the Women's Resource Center at Garfield's Restaurant by serving food and beverages during Celebrity Night and raised money for both organizations. The team paired with WOAY-TV for the event.
In June and July the Blazers will participate in the Beckley Youth Museum's Multicultural Festival in Beckley, WV and help provide free food, musical entertainment and games and promote a drug and crime free message. They will participate with WVNS TV, CBS 59 and Fox and provide tattoos and prizes during a series of health fairs in Southern West Virginia. Earlier, the team participated with the Spring Community Carnival at the Lewis Community Center in Oak Hill, WV and played games, signed autographs and provided merchandise for an auction while interacting with the kids and helping to raise money at the event.
In July, the Blazers will work with the American Cancer Society to help with the 2008 Relay for Life and also will participate with ERA Advantage Realty to support the MDA by participating in a Bowl-a-thon on June 11th. The team will also provide items for the silent auction.
