Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

Fargo (ND) Competitive dancing and hockey are typically not associated with one another but on Friday night they will be joined together. The Fargo-Moorhead Jets Junior A Hockey team will be honoring the national champion West Fargo Packatahnas competitive dance team during the Jets' playoff game Friday April 22 at the Carlson Coliseum.

The FM Jets face-off against the Southern Minnesota Express in Game Three of the Best-of-Seven North American Hockey League Central Division Finals at 7:30pm and the Packatahnas will be honored during a brief ceremony at the end of the first period.

Comprised of high school aged girls, the Packatahnas won the United Dance Association National High Kick competition in Orlando, FL in early February. Defeating 28 teams that qualified for the national championship round, the Packatahnas were able to garner the club's first-ever high kick championship. They were able to relive their championship performance earlier this month when the competition was replayed on ESPN 2.

The Packatahnas are guided by head coach Gretchen Stafslien.

The FM Jets are the 2005 Borne Cup Champions and are in their third season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 30th year of operation.

Jets home games are played at the John E. Carlson Coliseum in Fargo, ND. All games are broadcast at 103.9 THE TRUCK and fmjets.com.
