December 6, 2012 - West Coast League (WCL) News Release

PORTLAND, OREGON - December 6, 2012 - The 2013 West Coast League schedule has been released. Each of the eleven teams will play 54-games, with the teams organized in a revised divisional set-up.

The league is adding the Victoria (B.C.) HarbourCats and Medford (OR) Rogues for the upcoming season, with the HarbourCats joining the new North Division, while the Rogues will be a member of the new South Division. The North Division will include the HarbourCats, Kelowna Falcons, Bellingham Bells, Wenatchee AppleSox, and Walla Walla Sweets. The South Division will be comprised of the Rogues, Klamath Falls Gems, Bend Elks, Corvallis Knights, Cowlitz Black Bears, and Kitsap BlueJackets.

"We're excited about the schedule," said WCL president Ken Wilson, "and believe it accentuates our best rivalries for the fans."

The regular season opens June 5 and concludes August 11. Victoria will play its first game June 5 at home against Kelowna at Royal Athletic Park, while Medford begins WCL play the same night at Harry & David Field in Medford against Bellingham.

The defending West Coast League Champion Wenatchee AppleSox open defense of their crown at home on June 5, taking on the team they defeated in the 2012 WCL Championship Series, the Corvallis Knights.

The top two finishers in each division will advance to post-season play.
