Colorado Crush News Release

DENVER, Colo. - The Colorado Crush is making their final push toward the 2008 Arena Football League playoffs and signed two new players on Wednesday including former Crush WR Wendell Williams.

Williams (6-0, 190, Rhode Island) spent significant time in 2005 and 2006 on the practice squad before finding a home with the AFL's New Orleans VooDoo. He was waived on May 29th after spending most of the 2007 and 2008 seasons in "The Big Easy." In 16 games with the VooDoo, Williams had 95 receptions for 1,025 yards and 16 touchdowns. Williams averaged over 12 yards per catch this season for New Orleans.

"Wendell is a very solid wide receiver in this league," Colorado head coach Mike Dailey said. "We know the type of player we are getting and hopefully going into the playoff run, Wendell will be able to help us."

DB Michael Bragg (6-1, 195, Texas A&M-Kingsville) was most recently on the training camp roster of the L.A. Avengers prior to the start of the 2008 season. Before his AFL experience Bragg played in four games for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2006 and was released just prior to the start of the 2007 regular season. Initially signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants following the 2005 NFL Draft, he was released at the end of training camp.

A native of Lakewood, Calif., Bragg attended Mayfair High School and Cerritos College (Norwalk, Calif.) before transferring to Texas A&M-Kingsville, where he recorded 36 tackles, 10 pass breakups, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries in two seasons with the Javelinas.

The Crush head to Grand Rapids this weekend to take on the 3-10 Rampage in a pivotal American Western Division matchup at 5 p.m. on Saturday from Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.
