
Weinberg's Hat Trick leads Stars Past Tijuana

Ian Weinberg scored 3 goals, including 2 in the first half, for a hat trick on a Saturday night showdown with Western Division rivals Revolucion Tijuana.
Tijuana struck early by Edgar Lemus (#40) in the first quarter. Then the Stars scored 4 straight from Micah Wenzel, 2 from Ian, and Mark Lee for a 4:1 lead at halftime.
Tijuana fought back to a two-goal margin in the fourth quarter. But then the Stars fought it out to the end with a Todd Stauber goal in the back of the net assisted by Mark Lee. Todd led the team with 2 assists.
The Tacoma Stars move to 7-4 in the season (8-4 overall). The Stars are 5-0 at home and look to keep that streak alive next Saturday, January 29th versus Wenatchee at the Soccer Center. For tickets or more information, visit tacomastars.com.
