Georgia Swarm News Release
Dear Swarm Fan,
Just under three years ago, I had the good fortune of experiencing one of those infrequent life events that have an indelible impact on who you are as a person. Of course, getting married, having a child, reaching an imposing physical achievement all check those boxes.
But when your life and career is dedicated to the business of sports, yet another box looms throughout your career - one many never get to fill in with a ball-point pen.
In just our second season here in Georgia after relocating from Minnesota, we did something that had not been accomplished in Atlanta in 22 years: we brought a professional sports championship to town. (And yes, that's me, just left of center in the photo above, expressing the raw emotion of a moment I'll never forget.)
And for the first time ever, thanks to our incredible relationship with our amazing local broadcast partner, Atlanta's CW69, this moment will be televised in its entirety in the Atlanta viewing area.
And here's the kicker: we worked with Atlanta's CW69 to intersperse into the broadcast never-before-heard commentary from players, coaches, and front office members to provide even more flavor and drama to the events that unfolded.
We invite you all to "Relive an Atlanta Championship: Swarm vs. Rush 2017" this Saturday Night at 8 p.m. EDT in the Metro Atlanta Area on Atlanta's CW69.
I promise - whether you're a current lacrosse fan or soon to be one - you will witness as uplifting a sporting event you've seen in quite some time. It will also demonstrate why so many across Atlanta, North Georgia, the entire Southeast and across the United States are recognizing that box lacrosse (the indoor version of the game that's grown like wildfire in the past decade) is simply one of the most energy-filled and action-packed you can possibly experience - in person or on television.
Just watch this Saturday night. You'll understand.
After the broadcast, we'll have several players (including arguably the best box lacrosse player on the planet in Lyle Thompson) and coaches available in a live Zoom get-together to further reminisce on the historic proportions of what just took place.
So even though you know the outcome, you won't believe the journey it took to get there. Strap yourself in, Atlanta. You're in for a real treat Saturday night.
We hope you're all continuing to stay safe, strong, and healthy.
