ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 24-13-1-3 record (14-6-1-1 at home, 10-7- 0-2 on the road, 1-1-3 in overtime) and tied for third place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and tied for sixth overall in the WHL... The ICE will embark on a five game EASTERN CONFERENCE road trip (January 11- 21) before returning home to host BRANDON (January 24).
PASTA AND CHICKEN BUFFET: The KOOTENAY ICE FAN CLUB is hosting a PASTA AND CHICKEN BUFFET on Sunday, February 19 at the HERITAGE INN...The dinner will be attended by the KOOTENAY ICE PLAYERS and will start with cocktails at 4:30 pm...Tickets are $30.00 and are available during home games at the FAN CLUB TABLE or from any FAN CLUB MEMBER.
SAVE ON FOODS: The 2011- 2012 SAVE ON FOODS VOUCHERS are now available...Customers can purchase the ticket vouchers at the CRANBROOK SAVE ON FOODS location for all remaining KOOTENAY ICE regular season home games...Cardholders can pick them up for $19.00 including HST or for free with the redemption of 8,000 SAVE ON MORE points...Non -Cardholders can get their vouchers for $21.00 including HST.

DID YOU KNOW: KOOTENAY is 16-12-1-2 against the EASTERN CONFERENCE this season (11-5-1-0 at home, 5-7-0-2 on the road, 1-1-2 in overtime)...The ICE are 8-1-0-1 when leading after the second period on the road, 0-5-0-1 when losing and 2-1-0-0 when tied...KOOTENAY is first in the WHL on the power play on the road at 27.7%...The ICE are third in the LEAGUE in penalty killing on the road at 83.1%...NATHAN LIEUWEN is second in the LEAGUE in save percentage (.925) and goals against average (2.14)...SAM REINHART, who is sixth in the LEAGUE for points by a rookie (12-21-33), needs one more point to tie a franchise record for the most points by a 16-year-old (JARRET STOLL - 13-21-34 - 1998/99 and NIGEL DAWES - 15-19-34 - 2001/02)...MAX REINHART, who is tied for fourth in the LEAGUE for scoring the first goal of the game with five, leads the ICE in scoring on the road (12-12-24)...JESSE ISMOND, who recorded his 100th WHL career assist against the TIGERS on January 8, played in his 250th WHL career game on January 7 against MO OSE JAW...BRENDAN HURLEY played in his 150th WHL career game against MEDICINE HAT on January 8...TANNER MUTH recorded his first point with an assist with the ICE in his second game on January 8 against the TIGERS.
SCORING STREAK: SAM REINHART (3-1-4) has recorded at least a point in his last four games.
INJURY/TRANSACTION: Defenseman LUKE PAULSEN will be out of the KOOTENAY line up indefinitely with an upper body injury...The ICE traded 18-year-old Forward ADAM ROSSIGNOL to SWIFT CURRENT in exchange for 18-year-old Defenseman TANNER MUTH on January 6.
ONE YEAR AGO: After 41 games of the 2010-2011 season the ICE were 27-11-1-2, after 42 games 27-12- 1-2 and after 43 games 28-12-1-2.
