Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release
Fargo (ND) The Fargo-Moorhead Jets may have already secured the top seed in the North American Hockey League's Central Division playoffs, but there is still plenty of incentive for fans to come out to the Carlson Coliseum this weekend. The FM Jets (35-19-6, 76pts) take on the third place North Iowa Outlaws (27-27-6, 60pts) on both Friday and Saturday night in games full of promotions.
Face-off is 7:35pm on Friday and 7:05pm on Saturday.
For fans, the weekend is loaded with excitement and promotions, highlighted by the overall theme of Military Appreciation. The FM Jets will be wearing special jerseys sponsored by the U.S. Army, Great Plains Financial and State Bank & Trust both nights, and fans will have a chance to take a jersey home with a LIVE auction immediately following Saturday's game.
During Friday's game, the U.S. Army will be on hand helping kids make their own dog tags, and there will be a swearing in of new recruits during the first intermission. The game also marks the FM Jets' mascot Ace the Eagle's fourth birthday and there will be a special second intermission surprise.
Following Friday's game, all fans are invited to stick around and shoot on the FM Jets' goaltenders Elliot Okland (Fargo, ND) and Austin Lee (Bloomington, MN). There is no charge to take part.
Saturday's game will feature a military dress-up contest and the post-game jersey auction.
Members of the WDAY Honor Flight Fundraising committee will also be at both games providing more information on the event and collecting donations to send World War II veterans to see the WWII monument in Washington, D.C.
