The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 7 of the 2016 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Trevor Kennedy (RB, Spokane Empire)

After playing just one game in the month of March, the well-rested Empire returned with a flair against the Iowa Barnstormers, earning a 54-51 victory. Spokane RB Trevor Kennedy continued to prove why he is one of the best running backs in the IFL after a 13 carry, 127 yard performance vs the Barnstormers. Most importantly, Kennedy found the endzone four times, tying an IFL season-high. Kennedy's 9.8 yard per carry average was the most among any IFL running backs this season, with ten or more carries. The former tryout candidate now leads the IFL in rushing yards per game ( 74.0) and is second only to Nebraska Danger QB Jameel Sewell (15) in rushing touchdowns with 10. The Empire host the Colorado Crush this weekend.

Honorable Mention: Lemans Casimier (WR, Iowa Barnstormers), Dylan Favre (QB, Cedar Rapids Titans), Brady Roland (WR, Iowa Barnstormers) , Demarius Washington (WR, Colorado Crush)

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: James Ackel (DB, Nebraska Danger )

The Nebraska Danger rebounded from their first home loss since 2014 with a dominant defensive effort against the Billings Wolves. The Danger topped the Wolves 45-31 as a strong portion of that effort was led by Defensive Back James Ackel. The IFL veteran proved to be a strong asset for Nebraska as he grabbed three interceptions off Billings QB Mason Espinosa. Ackel helped turn the tide in the second quarter as he grabbed two interceptions in that quarter alone. Ackel snatched the third interception in the fourth quarter to cement the Danger victory. The Danger travel to face the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 8.

Honorable Mention: B.J Butler (DL, Billings Wolves), Lebron Daniel (DL, Iowa Barnstormers), Josh Ferguson (DB, Spokane Empire), Brandon Wilson (LB, Tri-Cities Fever)

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Nicholas Belcher (K, Cedar Rapids Titans)

After dropping back-to-back games in Weeks 2 and 3 respectively, the Cedar Rapids Titans have rebounded by winning three consecutive games. The team topped Green Bay Blizzard 70-40 in Week 7 action. Key to that victory was Titans K Nicholas Belcher. Belcher (5'9175, South Carolina State) scored 14 points for the Titans as he converted two of three field goals and converted a perfect eight of eight extra points. Belcher leads all kickers with 50 points scored this season. Additionally, he is tied for the league in field goal conversions, making eight this season. Belcher and the Titans again face off against the Sioux Falls Storm, in a major United Conference showdown.
