Week 15 games crucial to AFL playoff picture

NEW YORK - With three weeks remaining in the regular season, 11 teams are fighting for eight available playoff spots. The New York Dragons (8-5), Georgia Force (9-4), Chicago Rush (8-5) and Los Angeles Avengers (8-5) are in first place in their respective divisions.

Fighting for the two available Wild-Card spots in the National Conference are the Orlando Predators (9-5), Tampa Bay Storm (8-5), New Orleans VooDoo (8-5) and Dallas Desperados (7-5-1). The Colorado Crush (8-5), San Jose SaberCats (8-5) and Las Vegas Gladiators (7-6) are competing for the two American Conference Wild-Card playoff spots.

The Storm and VooDoo are tied at 8-5, with the Storm owning the tie-breaker for the last available playoff spot in the National Conference. The Desperados, who are one game back of the final Wild-Card spot, will play the Gladiators this weekend and the Force in Week 16. This weekend, the Storm will travel to Georgia to take on the Force and then face the Dragons in Week 16. The VooDoo will host the Crush this weekend and then take on the Predators in Week 17. The Predators hold a one-game lead on the Storm and VooDoo for the first-of-two Wild-Card spots.

The top four teams in the American Conference are tied at 8-5. The Avengers and the Rush own the tie-breakers for the two automatic bids, while the SaberCats and Crush have a one-game lead over the Gladiators for the two Wild-Card spots. The Gladiators will host the Desperados this weekend and take on the Avengers, in Los Angeles, in Week 16.
