San Diego Riptide News Release

SAN DIEGO – Marian Catholic High went a perfect 10-0 on the season with a decisive 29-14 win over Castle Park last Friday night thanks to the great two-way performance of TE/LB Mickey Pimental, who earned Week 11 sandiegoriptide.com High School Ironman honors.

The win clinched the school's second straight perfect season and South Bay League title.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound senior, who's received a scholarship offer from Colorado State, scored the game's opening touchdown, a 7-yard reception from quarterback Mario Ledesma.

Defensively, he tallied 12 sacks, batted a ball down at the line of scrimmage and recorded a sack. On special teams, he blocked a punt and returned a kickoff 45 yards.

Pimental will be honored prior to the Riptide's 2003 home opener with all the weekly award winners and the Ironman of the Year.

The entire Crusader varsity football team will receive tickets to that game to support their teammate.

Additional tickets to that game will be available at discounted rates for family members, friends and classmates.

With their perfect record, the Crusaders are the #1 seed in Division III playoffs and will play the winner of the Serra-Brawley game next Friday night. Below is a list of all the CIF San Diego Section playoff games this week.
