Brigade Enjoys a Day of Bingo

Rochester Brigade News Release


(Rochester, NY)-Today, Coach Saunders, OS Martino Theus and Blaze made a friendly visit to the Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong. While at the hospital, they spent part of the afternoon playing Bingo with the children and putting smiles on their faces. For the remainder of the afternoon, they spent their time making personal visits to various rooms, where they were able to socialize with the children and lift their spirits. During their brief visit, the members of the Brigade were able to establish friendships with the children and provide them with words of encouragement.

The players had a great time and insist on returning for a later visit to check back with their new friends. Saunders and Theus feel that their experience has proved to be both beneficial and eye opening for themselves.

"You don't realize what you have and how fortunate you are until you see what these kids are going through...I just wish I could put them in my situation for a day," stated Theus. The athletes were more than glad to share their experiences, as professional athletes, with the children and even sign autographs.

From Coach Saunders' stand point, "It's great to be able to put a smile on a child's face when you know what they're going through... I'm just glad we can make their day brighter."
