TORONTO, ON - Following the completion of his short-term contract with the Toronto Arrows, Brock Webster is set to return to Rugby Canada's national men's sevens team ahead of the resumption of the 2021-2022 World Rugby Sevens Series.
The 21-year-old Ontarian featured in five matches during his six-week spell with the club, playing every single minute across the quintet of games. The speedy outside back notched three tries, 283 carry metres on 21 carries, nine tackle breaks, three linebreaks, an offload and a breakdown steal during his time with the organization.
"Brock was an impact player for us over his six weeks with the club," said Mark Winokur, Toronto Arrows Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. "From the moment he arrived from the Pacific Pride in mid-February, he fit in seamlessly with our group, and from his performances on the pitch to his professionalism at the training ground, he demonstrated that he was more than capable of playing at the top level of rugby in North America."
"We wish Brock success with Canada on the World Rugby Sevens Series this year, and we look forward to seeing him back in Arrows blue and white down the road."
The six-foot, 180-pound wing / fullback returns to Canada's sevens program having already featured in three Series tournaments over the past three years. Webster debuted on the circuit as an 18-year-old at the 2019 Sydney Sevens, and after a brief spell away from the seven-a-side format, he returned to compete in back-to-back Dubai Sevens tournaments to kick off the 2021-2022 season. He's scored one try over 13 Series matches.
Webster's first opportunity to make his return to the Series will be on April 9-10 in Singapore, followed by the Canada Sevens on April 16-17 in Vancouver.
