March 9, 2005 - Appalachian League (ApL)
Princeton WhistlePigs News Release
We have now reached our third Wednesday of the four consecutive Wednesdays in which we offer you the chance to win great prizes while familiarizing yourself with the "new look" P-Rays Web site. Please remember that the answer to the question about to be asked can be found on our Web site at www.princetondevilrays.com. Only answers received by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 will be considered for judging. Answers will only be accepted by e-mail and entries should be e-mailed to the Princeton Devil Rays at raysball@sunlitsurf.com. With each entry, do not forget to include your U.S. postal mailing address, so that we will know where to mail any applicable prizes. We hope you are enjoying surfing our new site and please note that we will be adding more great information for you as it becomes available. We would once again like to thank Matt Pauley and Adam Roland of Red Head Professional Design Services for their diligent efforts in forming the "new look" P-Rays Web site that you are now enjoying. You may find out more about their company by clicking on their logo on the opening page of the P-Rays site.
LAST WEEK'S ANSWER AND WINNERS:
We discovered that once again many of you were waiting for the question and ready to go in your search for the answer to the March 2 segment of P-Rays' "Web site Wednesday." To review last week's question, it was "Name the month, date, and year that the Princeton Baseball Association officially became an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays?" The answer was September 27, 1996, when the first contract was signed by the Princeton Baseball Association to become a Tampa Bay Devil Rays affiliate. Ten local winners had their names drawn and won gift certificates (your prize cards were just recently mailed) to the Blarney Stone Restaurant of Princeton. These ten winners, who hopefully will be heading down there to enjoy Mom's Homemade Spaghetti (always served on Thursdays) and maybe topping it off with a delicious piece of their famous Mountain Dew Cake are Christie Cook, Steve Crowe, Daniel Dunn, Jerry Flanagan, Dusty Harman, Daniella Hatfield, Wilma Larew, Frank Lewis, Jordan Pruett, and Kim Shrewsbury. Our out-of-area readers got in the act too as five of them have a P-Rays logo baseball on the way to them as their winnings in the prize drawing for their segment and these winners are Cy Campbell (Denton, TX), Bryce Casto (Dunbar, WV), Scott Gibson (St. Albans, WV), Mike Judge (Fishersville, VA), and Grant McKay (Cincinnati, OH). Two more correct entries corralled the big prize of a P-Rays fitted New Era game cap and they were Byron Brown of Cool Ridge, WV, and David Lawson of Princeton. Correct answers were also received from Cecil Blauser (Karns City, PA), Ron Martin (Clemmons, NC), and Jeffrey Smith (Cleveland, OH).
PRIZES TO BE AWARDED FOR MARCH 9:
1. Ten local readers who submit the correct answer will receive gift certificates for a meal (up to $6.00 in value) from the Blarney Stone Restaurant, located at 902 Stafford Drive in Princeton. These ten winners will be determined by a drawing of names unless less than ten correct answers are received and then all correct answers will receive the prize cards.
2. Also, as a special bonus for our local readers over the last two segments of this contest, ten local readers who submit correct answers in each of the last two "Web site Wednesdays" will receive a gift certificate from Mountain Fresh Cleaners of Princeton. These ten winners will be determined by a drawing of names unless less than ten correct answers are received and then all correct answers will receive the prize cards.
3. To add to this "bonus" spirit, eight of our out-of-area readers who submit the correct answer will be mailed the April, 2005 issue of "At The Yard" magazine. These eight winners will be determined by a drawing of names unless less than eight correct answers are received and then all correct answers will receive a magazine.
4. Also, ALL correct entries (both local and out-of-area) will be eligible to win one of two P-Rays' fitted baseball caps (we will contact the winners for their hat sizes) to be awarded by a drawing of names.
**PLEASE NOTE ON ALL PRIZE CARDS RECEIVED THAT THE EXPIRATION DATE TO REDEEM YOUR PRIZE IS APRIL 30, 2005.
REMEMBER, YOU HAVE UNTIL 11:59 P.M. ON MARCH 9, 2005 TO SUBMIT YOUR ANSWER TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTION:
Who is the only member of the Princeton Patriots to still hold a Princeton franchise record in an individual single-season hitting category?
THANKS AGAIN FOR REVIEWING OUR WEB SITE AND BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF YOU. SEE YOU ON MARCH 16 FOR THE LAST INSTALLMENT OF OUR PRINCETON DEVIL RAYS' "WEB SITE WEDNESDAY" CONTESTS!
