ApL Princeton WhistlePigs

Web site Wednesday Question for March 2

March 2, 2005 - Appalachian League (ApL)
Princeton WhistlePigs News Release

It is now time for you to receive another question in the Princeton Devil Rays' "Web site Wednesday" contest. To review, this is week two in the four-week promotion to commemorate the "new look" Princeton Devil Rays Web site. Please remember that the question about to be asked can be found on our Web site at www.princetondevilrays.com. Only answers received before 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 will be considered for judging. Answers will only be accepted by e-mail and entries should be e-mailed to the Princeton Devil Rays at raysball@sunlitsurf.com. With each entry, do not forget to include your U.S. postal mailing address, so that we will know where to mail any applicable prizes.

LAST WEEK'S ANSWER AND WINNERS:

We thank you for your terrific response to last week's question, which once again was "During the previous 17 seasons that professional baseball has operated in Princeton, West Virginia, in which seasons (please list the specific calendar years) did the Princeton franchise draw at least 33,000 fans for the season to their home games?" The answer was 1989, 1994, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001. Ten local winners had their names drawn and won gift certificates (your prize cards were mailed on February 28) to the Blarney Stone Restaurant of Princeton and they were Christie Cook, Bill Criss, Daniel Dunn, Jerry Flanagan, Daniella Hatfield, Will Horton, Marshall Lytton, Greg Morris, Tommy Thomason, and Roger Topping. Five out-of-area readers (via a drawing of names) were mailed the March issue of "At The Yard" magazine for having the right answer and they were Cecil Blauser (Karns City, PA), Don Law (Clarksburg, WV), Ron Martin (Clemmons, NC), Jeffrey Smith (Cleveland, OH), and Aaron Watson (Palm Harbor, FL). The two winners of a Princeton Devil Rays fitted baseball cap by New Era were Kevin Clark (Pembroke, VA), and Pat Strader (Hico, WV). Also submitting the correct answer were Cy Campbell (Denton, TX), Bryce Casto (Dunbar, WV), Steve Crowe (Princeton), Matt Gallant (Bedford, MA), Scott Gibson (St. Albans, WV), Bentley Hudgins (Bluff City, TN), Mike Judge (Fishersville, VA), David Lawson (Princeton), Grant McKay (Cincinnati, OH), Larry McKay (Charleston, WV), Rob McNamara (Rockville, MD) and Melanie Roth (Charleston, WV).

PRIZES TO BE AWARDED FOR MARCH 2:

Ten local readers who submit the correct answer will receive gift certificates for a meal (up to $6.00 in value) from the Blarney Stone Restaurant, located at 902 Stafford Drive in Princeton. These ten winners will be determined by a drawing unless less than ten correct answers are received and then all correct answers will receive the prize cards.

Five out-of-area readers who submit the correct answer will be mailed a Princeton Devil Rays logo baseball. Once again, if more than five answers are received, the winners will be determined by a drawing of names.

Also, ALL correct entries (both local and out-of-area) will be eligible to win one of two P-Rays' fitted baseball caps (we will contact the winners for their hat sizes) to be awarded by a drawing of names.

Winners of prizes for the March 2, 2005 (as well as all others submitting correct responses) contest will be listed with our next "Web site Wednesday" contest for March 9, 2005.

THANKS AGAIN FOR REVIEWING OUR WEBSITE AND BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF YOU. WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY, HERE IS YOUR QUESTION:

Please name the month, date and year (example--March 9, 1945) that the Princeton Baseball Association officially became an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays?

SEE YOU ON MARCH 9 FOR ANOTHER "WEB SITE WEDNESDAY!"
