We want to make you a celebrity
May 5, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Atlanta Vision News Release
Borrowing from the words of a recent Hip-Hop artist song, "We want to make you a celebrity" the ABA Gwinnett Gwizzlies are pleased to announce that it will have it's season basketball games broadcasted live for 2004-05.
After weeks of wait and see with Comcast Sports Southeast cable T V network, this week an official from the company has agreed to broadcasting live home and away Gwizzlies ballgames and assist in promotions leading up to each ballgame.
This is huge for the ABA, Gwizzlies and basketball fans to be the first to have our ballgames live, reaching millions of viewers says Gwizzlies officials. Again we want to thank Joe Newman and the ABA for giving us a chance to produce and provide good professional basketball.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
