Medford Rogues News Release
MEDFORD, OR - The West Coast League's newest team, based in Medford, Oregon, today announced the team name, unveiled the logo and launched the team's Web site.
After a three-week "name the team" contest presented by the Mail Tribune, the team formerly known as WCL Medford will now move forward as the Medford Rogues.
"It's a great day for our team, finally having a true identity and moving ahead," Rogues General Manager Chuck Heeman said. "In the short time we've been here in Medford, it's really obvious that the Rogue theme fits right in with the lifestyle and attitude of the Rogue Valley. We were cheering for Rogues to be the winning name in the contest and we're very happy it came through that way."
Following the contest, the Rogues set about designing the team's logos. Working with CSH International, Inc., the team's ownership group, the logo was designed by Keith Flynn of Flynnagain Productions. Flynn will also design the team's uniforms and mascot, which will be unveiled after the first of the year.
The Rogues also launched the official team Web site, www.medfordrogues.com. The site is current with team, staff, player roster and other information.
At the logo unveiling held at Chadwick's Pub & Sports Bar, part of the Rogue Regency Inn & Suites complex, the Rogues also drew the winner of the Mail Tribune "name the team" contest. Aaron Hoefling of Medford was announced as the winner, and will receive the Grand Prize package of season tickets for the first two seasons, a team autographed ball and jersey, vouchers to the Rogues' merchandise and concessions stands, and the opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch at the Rogues' inaugural Opening Night in 2013.
