St. Louis Steamers News Release

ST. LOUIS, January 20, 2005 – St. Louis Steamers President and CEO Michael Hetelson announced today that WB11-KPLR TV will broadcast several Steamers games, while airing their reality television show entitled "Red Card." The regular-season broadcast schedule is slated to begin on Saturday, Jan. 29, when the Steamers visit the Philadelphia Kixx.

WB11-KPLR broadcasted one previous Steamers game on Nov. 6, 2004 versus Monterrey.

"We're excited to work with partners who are dedicated to St. Louis sports programming," Hetelson said. "One of our goals is to broadcast as many home and away games on television as possible in an effort to build fan support for our team."

"Red Card" is set to premier on Saturday, Feb. 12 with back-to-back episodes. Fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at the Steamers organization, including the efforts of new owners Wally Smerconish and Michael Hetelson to prepare the team to play. It is a personality-driven show, focusing on all aspects of the dynamic Philadelphia-based businessmen, including their personal lives, while providing an environment for a reality television show. The show travels from Paris to Hawaii and across the contiguous United States. The two-hour season premiere will center around the two owners purchasing the team and moving it from St. Charles to downtown St. Louis and the Savvis Center. Footage from the first show dates back six weeks from opening night and will range from the team's tryouts to assembling the Steam Dream Dance Team to building the field. It also includes closed-door sessions of front office logistics, such as marketing and ad campaigns. The Steamers plan to air eight hours of total programming.
