Wayne Bryan to Return for His 10th Season as Capitals Coach

(Sacramento, CA) - Wayne Bryan will return for his 10th consecutive season as coach of the World TeamTennis (WTT) Sacramento Capitals, as announced by the club today. Bryan has been honored as the WTT Coach of the Year three times and has directed the Capitals to championship seasons in 2002 and 2007.

"I'm absolutely thrilled that the organization has given me this opportunity to coach the Caps," Bryan said. "We want to continue the organization's longtime commitment to winning and I'm looking forward to seeing our stands filled with enthusiastic Caps fans."

Bryan will lead a talented group of Capitals stars that includes Vania King, Mark Knowles, Dusan Vemic and Yasmin Schnack.

"I couldn't be happier to bring Coach Bryan back for his 10th year with the Capitals," General Manager Matt McEvoy said. "Not only does he bring the best out of his players, but he is such an ambassador for the game. He's one of the best coaches in the world and he is an integral part of our goal to have the best team on and off the court."

Bryan is the father of current ATP No. 1 doubles partners, Mike and Bob Bryan (the Bryan Brothers), who will compete against the Capitals at Sunrise Mall on July 12 for Kansas City. The Bryan Brothers, who have claimed 68 doubles titles, are the all-time leaders for men's doubles team.

Bryan is a frequent national speaker and clinician, as well as the author of "The Formula, Raising Your Child to be a Champion in Athletics, Arts and Academics." He was named one of the "35 Most Powerful People in Tennis" by Racquet Magazine and has received a variety of awards and accolades in the sport. Bryan played collegiate tennis at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He began coaching in the WTT in 1999 as coach of the Idaho Sneakers.
