"Wax the Max" Night set for August 26th

In minor league baseball's tradition of over the top wacky promotions the Casper Ghosts are proud to present "Wax the Max" night. On August 26th, 2008 during their home game with the Orem Owlz the Ghosts boisterous and popular PA announcer Chris "Max" Maxwell will have his back waxed while trying to perform his signature player introductions all game long. Expect a lot of laughs and a few flips of the microphones off switch as Max tries to keep his cool during the Pioneer League contest.
"This is going to look like across between Shrek and the 40 year old Virgin" Maxwell remarked " It's not going to be pretty"
Why would anyone go through that kind of pain for a few laughs? Each painful tear will be raising money for the Casper Big Brothers Big Sisters program. The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization holds a special place in the announcer's heart.
"My father passed away when I was four and about two years later my mother recognized I needed a regular male influence in my life and signed me up for a big brother. The few years we had together we are incredibly positive experience for me and I will never be able to thank him or Big Brothers Big Sisters enough. This is just a drop in the bucket compared to what they did for me."
The Ghosts have donated 100 tickets to Big Brothers Big Sisters for the game as well as giving the little brothers and sisters an opportunity to stand on the field with the players during the National Anthem.
"Casper Big Brothers Big Sisters is thrilled that the Ghosts are as passionate about our organization as we are. We are very excited to be a part of this and recognize what are great opportunity this is for the organization and especially our kids" says Whitney Swieter the Outreach Coordinator for Casper Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Fans and sponsors are being asked to donate just a few dollars for each strip or up to $20 dollars if Maxwell is able to stand the pain throughout the entire game.
