Wave United re-signs Nick Walls

(Milwaukee, WI) Milwaukee Wave United, the Wave's A-League (outdoor) team announced today that is has signed forward Nick Walls for the upcoming 2004 season. The 23-year old Wauwatosa native returns to the Milwaukee squad following a successful rookie campaign in 2003 in which he tallied seven goals and one assist for 15 points in 27 appearances, including 14 starts. Walls was a significant contributor to a Wave United team that finished with a record of 18-10-0 (54 points) to claim both the Central Division and A-League Regular Season Titles.
Along with Chad Dombrowski (West Allis), Joe Hammes (Cedarburg), and Steve Lawrence (Brookfield), Walls was one of four local products who played significant minutes for Wave United in 2003. The speedy forward scored all of his goals in the second half of the season, including five first-goals (Wave United was 17-2-0 when scoring first) and two game-winning goals (7/19 @ Cincinnati, 8/9 @ Calgary).
"Nick provided a dynamic presence on the field for us last season, especially during the second half of the season," said Wave United Coach Art Kramer. "He scored many big goals for us and we'll be counting on him to do the same in 2004."
The 5-11, 172 lb Walls made his professional debut for Wave United following an outstanding career at St. Louis University. He totaled 18 goals and 17 assists (53 points) for his four year career with the nationally ranked Billikens, including eight goals and five assists (21 points) in 2002. Prior to enrolling at SLU, Walls was the 1998 Wisconsin Prep Player of the Year during his senior campaign at Wauwatosa East High School.
