Last Week's Recap:

Fri. 7/11 @ Seattle Sounders 1, Wave United 0 Attendance: 2,457

Darren Sawatzky's shorthanded breakaway goal off a long pass from Jason Farrell in the 79th minute was the lone score of the contest as the Sounders edged Wave United 1-0 before 2,457 at Seahawks Stadium. Milwaukee failed to capitalize on a man advantage in the final 39 minutes as Seattle was force to play with just 10 men following the ejection of Sean Michael Callahan (second yellow card) in the 51st minute. Wave United's best opportunity came just two minutes before Sawatzky's goal when Greg Howes chipped one off the post from 30 yards out after Seattle goalkeeper Rich Cullen had come out to challenge the play. Milwaukee thoroughly dominated time of possession before and after Callahan's ejection. Wave United also had an 11-2 edge in corner kicks but was unable to avoid its fourth shutout of the season. Seattle's win gave the Sounders a split of the two-game season series between the clubs.

Sun. 7/13 @ Portland Timbers 4, Wave United 3 Attendance: 3,901

Byron Alvarez scored from point blank range in the 90th minute to spark the Timbers to a 4-3 win over Wave United in front of 3,901 fans at Portland's PGE Park. Alvarez' goal, his second of the contest prevented Milwaukee from salvaging at least a tie after Wave United had rallied from a 3-1 second half deficit to level the score. Alvarez scored of a Hugo Alcaraz cross that deflected off the post just five minutes after the ejection of Milwaukee's John Ball, who incurred his second yellow card on a questionable call in the 85th minute. Wave United had fought back to even the score on goals by Ball (57th minute) and Chad Dombrowski (83rd). Todd Dusosky assisted on both of those tallies, as well as Milwaukee's first goal which was scored by midfielder Josh Timbers in the 16th minute. The result enabled Portland to split the season series at one game apiece. The four goals yielded by Milwaukee was also a season high for Wave United.

Notes: *Milwaukee's next regular season victory will be the 100th of its seven year A-League history (Wave United and Rampage combined).

*Todd Dusosky's three assists on 7/13 @ Por set a new team record for Wave United. Todd's assist "hat trick," was the first individual multiple assist game for a Wave United player this season. Todd is Milwaukee's leading scorer with 18 points (seven goals, four assists).

*John Ball's ejection @ Por on 7/13 was his first this season and the second of his five-year A-League career. It was also the second ejection for Wave United this season following Anthony Maher's red card in the season opener v. Min on 5/16.

*Rookie defender Joe Hammes (Cedarburg, WI / St. Louis U.), who did not play in the season opener v. Min on 5/16, has played every minute of every game (1173 minutes) since. He is second on the team in minutes played behind John Ball (1210).

*Rookie defender Steve Lawrence (Brookfield, WI / Marquette U.) had played every minute of every game since making his pro debut on 6/7 @ Min until sitting out the final 14 minutes @ Por on 7/13.
